Shortcut for Marking Test Scripts as "Passed" or "Failed" with a single keystroke or shortcut

Hi Technical Support Testiny Team,

I’m currently working on a large batch of test scripts and wanted to check if there’s a shortcut available to mark test cases as “Passed” or “Failed” with a single keystroke or shortcut. Manually switching each test result is time-consuming, so I’m looking for an efficient way to handle this in bulk.

Could you please let me know if there’s an option to simplify this process or any tips for faster switching?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Hi Fendy and welcome to the Testiny forum!

Thank you for your suggestion!

Just to ensure that I understand your request correctly:
How do you usually set the result? From the list of test cases using the result drop down or in the right side panel using the buttons?

Thank you!

Best regards,
Alex

Hi there! Thank you for the warm welcome and for looking into my suggestion!

To clarify, I typically set the result using the result drop-down menu in the list of test cases. However, the main challenge I’m facing is that it can be quite time-consuming, as I need to adjust each result one by one. When managing a large set of test cases, this process becomes quite repetitive and slows down the workflow.

Having an option to update multiple test results at once, or a faster way to adjust them, would really streamline the process and make it more efficient.

Setting multiple test results at one is already possible using bulk edit:
In the list of test cases in a test run, just tick the checkboxes for every test case in the list you want to set to the same result, then click the “Edit” button just above the table to set the result for all of the selected test cases.

For more info, see the corresponding section in our documentation:

Another way to speed up the process would be to just open the side panel (click the test case in the list) and then set the result with the “Passed”/“Failed” buttons. When you set a result, Testiny will jump to the next test case in the list (unless you unchecked the “Jump to next test case after setting result” option).

Alex
