We are a project that updates every month, and it is separated by monthly folder.
We use the test plan on a monthly basis, so we are looking for a function to end last month’s completed plan. It would be nice to have a function to end it the same as the test run.

Hi and welcome to the Testiny forum!
Can you please clarify what “closed” means to you with regard to a test plan? Is it:
- the test plan is no longer mutable
- no more runs can be created from the plan
- you can no longer link test runs to the plan
- it’s no longer shown in the list of test plans
- all of the above?
And with regard to the comment from @Hyein_Jung , what status would you expect from a test plan, i.e. which states?
Thank you for your feedback, it will improve our understanding on how you use the test plan and how we can possibly extend it to fit your needs.
Best regards,
Alex
Thank you for your quick response.
I made the suggestion simply considering two of the conditions you mentioned.
- no more runs can be created from the plan
- it’s no longer shown in the list of test plans
- In addition, we would like to check the completed test plan using the “show” button.
- just like the functionality provided by “test run”
As hyein_jung said, we also hope that “test plan” will have states such as preparation, progress, and termination.
thank you.
Thank you for the clarification!
Regarding the states, this sounds a bit more like something a “milestone” would have, which would already be on our roadmap.
Nevertheless, I’ll add your feature idea to our wanted features list. This does not yet mean we will implement that feature exactly, but that we will discuss where it fits into our plan, i.e. when thinking about milestones and how “closed” test plans will fit into that.
That said, the more people upvote this feature here in the forum and the more feedback we get here, the more informed this decision will be and the sooner such a feature may be shipped.
So if anyone reads this and also needs this feature, please leave an upvote or even a comment/post what your requirements are. Thank you!
Best regards,
Alex
