I am currently checking testiny as an alternative to TestRail which we are using currently as our test case management tool. I must say that at first glance it is looking like a decent alternative to TestRail! The UI looks much better and easy to use, gives you a smooth experience. Many things look simple, self explanotary and that’s one of the points that is missing for me in the other tool.

I also tried the test case import and there is a “feature” that would be good to have in my opinion. The attachments of a “TestRail test case” are also imported to “Testiny test case” automatically.

In addition to that I could not find if there is any “sharing test case or precondition” feature in Testiny. This is also sth that is very convenient in big and/or complex products like our’s. It exist in TestRail, but in a way that is not easy to use tbh :slight_smile:

I am really happy that there is good alternative out there.

Regarding attachments on test cases imported from TestRail: we are working on a better importer that would also support attachments. If you like to test that out, just shoot me a private message with your email, then I can give you early access to that feature.

Regarding “sharing test case or precondition”: What you can do right now for sharing preconditions, is using folder descriptions. So you would add the common precondition in the description of a folder and then you open/read this when executing test cases.
We are also evaluating ideas on how to make sharing of common steps/test cases/text easier, e.g. like improving how you can link test cases from text.
