Creating defects in Jira - Formatting improvements

If you currently create a defect from Testiny in Jira, the description in Jira is difficult to read and formatted incorrectly.

I have the following example test case in Testiny:

When I create a defect and select the option “Add test steps to description”, this results in the following description in Jira:

From my point of view, it would be better if the table format was retained. e.g. this could result in the following description:

(Note: that nested tables in table cells must then also be possible).

Alternatively, you could leave it up to the user how the results should be transferred and offer several options for how the steps should be transformed. (e.g. as a list or with different sized headlines, etc.). The main thing is that it is cleanly formatted, well separated and easy to read in the ticket system.

In addition, it should also be possible to transfer fields such as preconditions or custom fields. It would also be helpful if you could create your own template for this. Corresponding information then with placeholder text.

Hi,

We try to keep the formatting of the steps as general as possible as some tools do not support rich text/tables. However, the formatting should be cleaner, i.e. to see where the step ends and the expected result starts.

It would also make sense to allow transferring preconditon and custom fields.

I’ve collected all your points and we’ll take them into account when working on the (Jira) integration.

Thank you for your valuable input!

Best regards,
Hanna
